My name is Siobhan Smith, I am 41 and married to Paul. We have 3 children and currently live in Watford, Hertfordshire.
I have always had a strong desire to work closely with mothers & babies in a supporting role, so when I was told about the work of a Doula I instantly knew that was what I wanted to do.
I studied with Nurturing birth, completing a birth and postnatal course which is recognised by Doula UK.
I was trained by Kicki Hansard who was Doula of the year and mentored by Nicola Wilson who is chair of Doula UK.
As a member of both Nurturing birth and Doula UK, I follow their philosophy on birth and the code of conduct.
I currently volunteer at the Royal Free hospital in Hampstead, North London helping to support women before, and after the birth of their babies working in my role as a Doula.
I also work at Watford General Hospital as a breastfeeding support worker.
I also have experiance with home births, water births, VBAC & multiples.
I am available to attend births at : Watford general, Stoke Mandeville, Luton & Dunstable, Hitchin Hospital, Wrexham Hospital Slough, Wycombe Hospital, The Lister Steveage, Hillingdon Hospital, QE2 Welwyn garden city, Northwick park, Barnet general, Chase farm, Edgware birth centre, The Royal free Hampstead, The Whittington Highgate, Princess Alexandra Harlow.
I can also attend homebirths in any of these areas.
